GIA Upgrade

The Gemological Institute of America is revamping the GIA Graduate Jeweler program in collaboration with master goldsmith Alan Revere. Set to start in late 2023, the program will integrate aspects of the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts by focusing on bench skills. gia.edu/graduate-jeweler-program

Now with More Edge

TextMeChat, a software tool from Star Gems that helps manage business interactions like Google reviews, messaging and collecting payments, can now integrate with The Edge point-of-sale software. After 47 years in business, Jim Saylor, owner of Jim Saylor Jewelers in Kapa’a, Hawaii, knew retiring successfully meant holding a going-out-of-business sale. He also knew he needed help to do it right.
