Here’s the Answer to May’s Gem Quiz

SINCE ITS DISCOVERY in the Ural Mountains in the early 1830s, Phenakite has been known to trip up gemologists, and it is still quite often confused with quartz and even diamond. But INSTORE’s readers — with just the odd exception — were able to confidently identify this quite rare gemstone. Leading the knowing crowd was Katrina Sustachek of Rasmussen Diamonds in Racine, WI. Her name came out of the hat first and she gets to walk away with the grand prize – a Gem Geek t-shirt. Well done to everyone else too who submitted a correct answer. You get to walk away with your head held high.

Thanks everyone who entered. Watch this space. A new Gem Quiz will be posted soon.

Choose the Easy Way to Retire with Wilkerson

After 47 years in business, Jim Saylor, owner of Jim Saylor Jewelers in Kapa’a, Hawaii, knew retiring successfully meant holding a going-out-of-business sale. He also knew he needed help to do it right. He chose Wilkerson. “I’ve heard a lot of different names of companies that do this type of thing,” says Saylor. “Wilkerson’s always seems to be in the forefront.” Saylor says the Wilkerson folks really cared about the success of the sale, making the next phase of his life a lot easier. “I’d recommend Wilkerson to anybody contemplating a change,” he says. “They are true experts.”
